How do I set up a Pebblepad Alumni account?
This guide explains how Pebblepad Alumni accounts work, how staff and students can set one up for themselves, and provides an example of instructions which can be given to students.
Staff or students who have been using Pebblepad at the University of Strathclyde are automatically entitled to a free personal alumni account when they leave.
The personal account is separate to their University account and uses a personal email and password to login. Users can access their University asset store as a separate tab in the new personal account.
Note - Users who create personal accounts will be able to continue using their personal PebblePad account as long as the University of Strathclyde licenses PebblePad, plus an additional three years.
You can activate your Pebblepad Alumni account yourself whenever you choose. However, if students set up their account early in their degree, this could create some confusion between personal and university account, so most users will set up their Alumni account just before they leave the University.
Students and staff should activate their Pebblepad Alumni account before their Myplace student username and password expires (6 months after graduation/ceasing to be enrolled), and/or before they graduate or leave the University.
If the user's University username and password have already expired, a Alumni account set up link can usually be activated by Myplace support, however please note it may not be possible in all circumstances. The programme or area will also need to provide a verified (through photo id) personal email address and identification details for the former student of staff member for data protection purposes.
