Stream Migration Actions

Guidance / Instructions to follow to update Stream Video Embed codes will be made available in January 2025. - Updated 18/12/2025

As a result of the Classic Stream migration, videos have been distributed to staff members' OneDrive folders and a SharePoint document library and will cause embedded video URLs on Myplace to become inaccessible once the automatic redirects stop working on February 15, 2025.

Education Technology are currently working on a tool to help with the updating of these embed codes, that avoids you needing to access the HTML source code in pages where these videos have been placed.

What should I do if I or a colleague who owns videos in a personal OneDrive space leave the University?

Please ensure that any video content in a personal One Drive space is uploaded to the Learning & Teaching video repository and that the embed code in Myplace is updated before the end of the employment.

What happens to videos migrated to a personal OneDrive when the owner leaves the University?

The embed code for videos in the “Stream Migrated Video“ folder in a personal space will still work for up to six months after they leave (this time will depend on when their account is suspended).
