Other Issues

Issues identified

The accessibility issues identified within the Completion progress are the following:

  • Students are able to display the activities as a list when using a keyboard and a screenreader. However, the control that opens the list is not visible and it doesn’t show the focus ring. The list can’t be collapsed again once expanded.

  • The student overview page is not operable using a keyboard. This means that the information in the block is inaccessible or difficult to use for people who navigate using keyboard, screen readers, or who use vocal commands.

  • Most content of the block is not exposed to screen readers and text to speech devices due to non-semantic markup being used and lack of WAI-ARIA properties.

  • The block uses colour only to identify the completion status of activities. This means that people who have colour blindness, low vision, or that use colour adjustments may have issues interpreting the information displayed in the block.

We are currently in the process of identifying and reporting the issues to the developers, as well as searching and considering potential replacements.
