Joining Zoom Lectures & Seminars/Tutorials - Student Guidance - iPhones/iPads
After consulting the guidance all student support requests should be submitted via https://support.myplace.strath.ac.uk/request
Zoom Lectures & Seminars/Tutorials can be joined through an iPhone or iPad.
Log into Myplace and find the page for your class. If there is a Zoom session for your class, it will appear in the page like this:
Clicking on this link will take you to a page like this:
Click on "Join Meeting" to enter the Zoom session. The first time you join a Zoom session, you will be redirected to the Zoom website where you may have to "Accept Cookies" to continue:
The first time you try to join a Zoom session you will see a screen like this. use the link highlighted below to get the Zoom app from the Apple App Store:

When this is installed, you don't need to open or run the software. Instead, return to the Myplace page and click "Join Meeting" again:
This time, the app will be available and will be offered to you:
When it opens, you'll be asked to accept the Zoom Terms of Service and Privacy Policy:
You'll be asked for permission to access your camera:
Zoom may ask if you want to join with video (if your lecturer or tutor has activated this for this particular session):
You will be asked to allow Zoom to use your microphone (again, if your tutor has activated this):
You can choose to use your iPad's audio, or to use a UK national phone number to join:
Finally, Zoom will ask if you can be sent notifications:
You should now have joined the Zoom session.
