What does it do?

It applies the Policy and Procedure for Late Submission of Coursework to work submitted after the deadline on Myplace.

For now it only applies to assignment activities, which are represented by this icon Image of the Assignment icon in Myplace

If you think you are unlikely to meet a coursework deadline due to medical issues or personal circumstances, please apply for an extension as early as possible.  It is now also possible to apply for an extension to an assignment on Myplace using a new tool in Myplace.

Grace Periods

The University recognises that there are circumstances that may affect a students ability to submit exactly by the due date.

In these circumstances students may elect to make use of a 4 hour "grace period" after the Due Date.

Students must declare they are wishing to take advantage of this offer when they are making their submission on Myplace and indicate their reason from the drop down menu. image needed

Staff can revoke the grace period if they choose to.

Late Submission History

Staff will also be able to view students late submission across other classes, if necessary. This is to adhere to the late submissions policy that staff should track students who are persistently late with coursework.
