This page discusses the late submission feature in Myplace which is new for 19/20

 Contents...

What does it do?

It provisionally applies the late submissions policy (shown below) to your work submitted on Myplace for markers to then decide whether to apply it. For now it only applies to assignment activities.

If you need to make an extension request, you can also now do it through Myplace, see page link here to extension requests.

A minimum mark, equal to the pass mark, will be applied for late work of a pass standard that is submitted within the submission window.

No Penalties will be applied to work that is below the pass standard

What will it look like? (Before Grades are Released)

Once you have submitted it will show the provisional late submissions penalty (to be applied at markers discretion)

If you click the plus symbol it will expand and show the policy and why the provisional level of deduction was applied

What will it look like? (When Grades are Released)

Once your grades have been released, if you received any late submissions penalties these will be shown.

To see a breakdown along with your 'performant' grade (which is your grade before any penalties were applied), select the plus symbol.

Grace Periods

The University recognises that there are circumstances that may affect a students ability to submit exactly by the due date.

In these circumstances students may elect to make use of a 4 hour "grace period" after the Due Date.

Students must declare they are wishing to take advantage of this offer when they are making their submission and indicate their reason. This will also be available through the submissions page in Myplace (image needed)

However staff can revoke the grace period if they choose to.

Late Submission History

Staff will also be able to view students late submission across other classes, if necessary. This is to adhere to the late submissions policy that staff should track students who are persistently late with coursework.
