This page contains a list of known issues associated with Stream Migration Actions and updating Embed Codes for Microsoft Stream Videos.

If you are experiencing an issue that is not listed here please contact Education Technology Support via help@strath.ac.uk including a screenshot of your whole web browser window, the URL to the affected Myplace site, and URL to the affected activity / location.

This item might not exist or is no longer available

When you click on the blue “Open Migrated Video” button in the Stream Migration Tool you get the following screen, with the message “This item might no exist or is no longer available”.

This indicates that the video you are attempting to update may have been moved from it’s migrated location to somewhere else.

This may be more common with videos that are are in your One Drive “Stream Migrated Videos” folder.

Resolution

Before February 15th 2025

If the video is displaying in Myplace when you view it normally, click on the “Watch in Stream” button to open the video from it’s hosted location (use Ctrl+Click to open in a new window / tab):

In the “Stream” view of the video:

You can see the location of the video under the video player. In the above example you can see that this is located in the user “Michael Hughes” One Drive, in a “EXTRA IT STUFF/Stream Migrated Video” folder.

If you can’t see the full location, click on the “…” button to show the intermediary folders.

As you can reach this page, you can use the “Share / Embed Code” option in the top right corner to get an updated embed code to place in to Myplace.

After February 15th 2025

After 15th February, the “Watch in Stream” button may not function (or the embed may not display at all), so you will not be able to locate the migrated video.

You may be able to locate it if you believe you have move the “Stream Migrated Videos” folder in your One Drive.

Otherwise contact help@strath.ac.uk for support in attempting to re-locate the video content.
