First, do your film, upload it and let Stream generate the captions automatically.
Follow the options bellow to edit the captions:
- Click the ^ arrow next to My content and then select videos.
- Click on the selected video.
- Once on the video’s page hover over three little dots and click for more actions.
- Select ‘update video details’.
- Click on the ‘Download file’.
Note: If the Download file option isn't visible, you might need to uncheck the Autogenerate captions box.
- After downloading the file, select ‘Show in folder’ to make sure where your download is saved.
Note: Your PC won't recognise the .vtt file format they are in but if you right-click on it and tell the PC to open it with notepad you can edit it. If that is problematic simply open notepad and navigate to the file you downloaded (here make sure Notepad is looking for ‘all files’ rather than just text files otherwise you wont actually see the caption file).
- Now you can go through each event and edit the text.
- After editing is done, save the Notepad.
- You should now be able to go back to the Update Video page on Stream and upload the caption file again.
