First, do your film, upload it and let Stream generate the captions automatically.

When they eventually make their appearanceFollow the options bellow to edit the captions:

  • Click the ^ arrow next to My content and then select videos.


  • Select Click on the relevant selected video.



  • Once on the video’s page hover over three little dots and click for more optionsactions.


  • Then select  Select ‘update video details’



  • All going well Then you should be able to see this page:


  • Then click Click on the ‘Download file’.


Note: You  If the Download file option isn't visible, you might need to switch uncheck the Autogenerate captions box off to see the download caption file option.



  • Make sure you know what folder you are downloading to or After downloading the file, select ‘Show in folder’ when Windows has downloaded itto make sure where your download is saved.




Note: Your PC won't recognise the .vtt file format they are in but if you right-click on it and tell the PC to open it with notepad you can edit it. If that is problematic simply open notepad and navigate to the file you downloaded (here make sure Notepad is looking for ‘all files’ rather than just text files otherwise you wont actually see the caption file).


  • You should then have a Notepad file like this:



  • Now you can just go through each event and edit any text bit you want, and just save when donethe text.
  • After editing is done, save the Notepad.
  • You should now be able to go back to the Update Video page on Stream and upload the caption file again.
