Notices are the main way to share important information to classes. They are displayed to students via Myplace, in the Mobile App, and delivered to their Strathclyde email address.

Notices are sent using Myplace. They can be public, or target a specific class, groups, or even single students. In Myplace, recent notices are shown within the My Notices block in the Dashboard and in all classes. All notices are are also listed in the Communication Hub.

Notices are shown under the My notices block. Staff and students can click on a notice to expand it and view the content, or choose to view all notices in the Communication Hub.

The My notices block in the Myplace dashboard shows announcements and a clickable list of the four most recent notices. Each notices shows the title, name and picture of the sender, and the time it was sent. The View All Notices and Post Notice buttons are also available.

From your Myplace class or from the dashboard, you can post a notice from the My notices block.

To access this feature, you need to be a member of staff and have a teaching role in at least one class.

  1. Go to the Post notice page.

  2. Choose your target audience.

  3. Compose your notices.

  4. Add attachments.

  5. Set notifications.

  6. Preview and send.

Step 1 - Go to the Post Notice page

From the My notices block in your class or in the Dashboard, select the Post notice button.

The post Notice Button is located under My Notices after the list of notices and the View all Notices button.

Step 2 - Choose your audience

The audience of a notice are the people who will receive your message. You can target specific classes, groups, or single students.

If you open the Post Notice page from a class, the class will be the default audience. You can choose a different audience if you want.

Target courses or groups

Select Choose to change the audience.

You may target:

  • whole classes

  • one or more groups within a class

  • one or more groupings within a class

  • combinations of the above

To select / deselect a target click on the checkbox to the left hand side.

You can use a panel to highlight or add additional information. Please only use the styles below according to their purpose and meaning.
