The tool doesn’t currently support this and we are woking on making the functionality available.

Yes. If your assignment is only available to some students, you will only able to release by user or group if all the users in the group can see the activity.

The tool uses the Grade item visibility to determine if the marks have been released. This is an indication that student may be able to see their grades and we recommend checking that the activity and marking are setup as expected.

Alway make sure that the grade item is hidden in the gradebook when setting up an assignment.

 Known issues

Marking workflow support

The tool doesn’t automatically make changes to the making workflow status when marks are released. The issue doesn’t prevent you from using the tool if you are using marking workflow.

You can use the tool if you are using marking workflow, but you will need to update the status manually by following these steps:

  1. Make sure that the grade item is hidden in the Gradebook.

  2. Set marking workflow status to Released.

  3. Release marks and feedback.

Grade item visibility for duplicated assignments

If you duplicate an assignment, please manually hide the grade item in the Gradebook. If the grade item looks hidden already, make it visible and then hide it again. This is to prevent an issue with partial releases.
