Guidance / Instructions to follow to update Stream Video Embed codes will be made available in January 2025. - Updated 18/12/2025

As a result of the Classic Stream migration, videos have been distributed to staff members' OneDrive folders and a SharePoint document library and will cause embedded video URLs on Myplace to become inaccessible once the automatic redirects stop working on February 15, 2025.

Info

Education Technology are currently working on a tool to help with the updating of these embed codes, that avoids you needing to access the HTML source code in pages where these videos have been placed.

Frequently Asked Questions

This section will be regularly updated with any Frequently Asked Questions and Answers.

What should I do if I or a colleague who owns videos in a personal OneDrive space leave the University?

Please ensure that any video content in the “Stream Migrated Video“ folder in a personal One Drive is uploaded to the Learning & Teaching video repository and that the embed code in Myplace is updated before the end of the employment.

What happens to videos migrated to a personal OneDrive when the owner leaves the University?

The embed code for videos in the “Stream Migrated Video“ folder in a personal space will still work for up to six months after they leave (this time will depend on when their account is suspended). Please contact help@strath.ac.uk as soon as possible if you need to recover a video.
